The Bittencourt's”.

Amanda Amaro is a 15-year-old girl who lived in an orphanage until she was 4 years old when she was adopted by the Amaro family. He loves his adoptive parents and almost never thinks about his life before them. She knew she had been adopted, but she had no interest in finding out who her biological parents were. Lucas and Regina were her parents and that was it, no matter what a blood test could say, her heart spoke much louder and the love she had for them was true and no one could say otherwise.

Amanda studied at the best schools her parents could provide. They weren't rich, much less millionaires, but they always tried their best to give their only daughter the best education they could. Lucas and Regina had been married for over 20 years and spent 10 years trying to have children, but for no apparent reason they never managed. Regina always has a burning desire to be a mother, to build a beautiful family and pass on to her children all the Christian values that she valued. But God had other plans for her, she would be a mother, but not of someone born in her womb, but of a child born in her heart! And when she saw Amanda on her first visit, it was love at first sight and she saw in those little eyes that she was her daughter and it didn't matter what others might say.

********************

At the school where Amanda studied, there was a boy called Felipe Vasconcelos, he was her worst enemy. Felipe and Amanda had known each other since they were children, but Felipe always picked on absolutely everything she did and when he found out that Amanda was adopted he started bullying her. Felipe was a spoiled playboy who didn't know when to stop and Amanda was his favorite target.

Their mutual hatred was known to everyone at school and also to their families. Amanda had already returned home several times crying because Felipe had made fun of her and her parents had already had to intervene thousands of times, even meetings with their parents were held, but the declared war between Felipe and Amanda remained stronger for several years with no deadline for closure.

********************

The day everything changed, Amanda had been called to the board, without understanding why, as she had done nothing wrong. Suspicious and apprehensive, she left the room with all eyes on her. Amanda's hands were sweating! She had always been a good student and never needed to go to the principal's office, so she had no idea which path she should take.

He walked down that deserted corridor with several thoughts in his mind. She entered the boardroom and saw her parents and two strangers sitting, and the moment she entered everyone turned to see her entrance. The director was standing with an air of seriousness, while her mother had her eyes red as if she had just cried, and her father, with an apprehensive face, tried to console his wife. Meanwhile, the two formally dressed strangers were standing next to the headmistress and looking at her with a look of interest.

"Are you Amanda Amaro?" - asked one of the unknown men.

"Yes I am" - Amanda replied somewhat suspiciously without understanding what was happening.

"Please sit"

Amanda sat between her parents without even questioning the unknown man's order. He had a scared look on his face that he couldn't hide from anyone. Would she be expelled from school, would someone die? What the hell should have happened?

"Amanda, I'm sorry I took you out of your classes, but they insisted" - The director spoke and soon after sat down in the chair looking tired.

"The subject is too important to wait until later" - said one of the men in suits who had a folder in his hand. He leaned over with the folder and handed it into Amanda's hands, who remained motionless without knowing what to do, what was that, what was happening?

"What is that ?" - Amanda asked after she finally had a voice to speak.

"These are concrete proofs that you are a bintecourt."

"One what ?" Amanda asked without understanding anything.

"You don't know the Bintercourt Family, girl?" - said the man with mockery and surprise.

"I'm sorry my lord, but my family is under no obligation to know anything and can you give us permission to talk to them? This is a family matter and does not involve you." - Said Lucas, Amanda's father.

"We are here representing the Bintercout family, so we have the right to remain in the room." - said the man in a deep and serious voice.

"I think it's better if we leave and then we'll come back" - replied the second man in a suit who had been silent this whole time and seemed the more sensible of the two.

The two mysterious men and the principal left the room in silence, leaving Amanda and her parents alone in the principal's room.

"What is happening ?" - Amanda asked her father in a choked voice holding back tears.

"Ohh my daughter, what we always feared and what you never wanted to know happened" - Lucas said as he wiped the tears from Amanda's face who was beginning to understand the situation she found herself in. At this moment, Amanda's mother, who had been silent all this time holding back tears, holds Lucas' hands tighter and looks seriously at her daughter.

"Your biological family found you! It turns out that they have a lot of money and now they want to fight for your custody. We have already informed you that this is impossible, as we are officially for the justice of men and God, your parents, and there is no money in the world change that.” - Regina started talking, trying to hold back crying - "But, they came here to look for you because they want you to meet your grandfather. They don't live in Brazil anymore and they only have today available for this meeting, that's why all this madness and they insist that you go, but we have already informed you that you will only go if you want."

Amanda was lost in her thoughts, she knew she had always been adopted, this was never a secret within her family. She was never interested in knowing who her biological family was, she was happy being an Amaro, she didn't want to be a Bintercourt, she didn't even know who those people were. “Bittencourt's” .

Amanda took a deep breath and let her tears flood her face, that information would change her entire life and she didn't want anything to change.

"I need some time alone." - Amanda said, getting up and leaving the room, her parents didn't have any objections.

The unknown men who were at the behest of the Bintercout family saw Amanda leaving the room and even tried to stop her, but the director didn't let them see that Amanda was shaken and let her go alone.

Amanda ran through the school corridors aimlessly and without even looking around. Felipe saw her running and crying and followed, as he was worried about the girl and followed her and found her sitting on one of the benches in the courtyard.

He sat down and remained silent, Amanda didn't even notice the presence of the boy next to her, but when she did, she was scared by his presence.

"What is it, come to make fun of me?"

"No, I was just worried, you came running here crying and didn't even give me a dirty look when you passed me. I was sure something was wrong!"

"Are you worried about me? What world am I living in, everything has changed even in this place." - Amanda wipes her tears with the sleeve of her shirt, looks at Felipe and sees that the boy's face is really compassionate towards her. It was strange to think of Felipe worried, and even stranger to think that she was actually a millionaire, maybe a billionaire, he didn't know for sure. His world was truly upside down!

"I'm serious, we've known each other since we were children and even when I bothered you the most you weren't like that. What happened?"

"Do you really want to know what happened?"

"Of course, that's why I'm here"

"You always made fun of me for being adopted, because now my biological family has appeared and now I'm going to have to abandon the whole life I knew?" - Amanda couldn't take it anymore and started crying desperately."

Felipe was scared by that painful cry and hugged her. She was scared at the time, as she never imagined being hugged by Felipe, but she was so vulnerable at that moment that she responded to the hug and they remained there in that hug in silence, as if everything around them had shut down and there were only the two of them left in that school yard.

"Come on Amanda, we need to resolve this issue!" - said his mother, accompanied by his father and the two unknown men.

She didn't want to go, because getting up and walking with those people would be the beginning of a new story that Amanda wasn't ready to face.

"Don't worry Amanda, everything will be fine and call me if anything happens and I'll be here"

Felipe said this with so much conviction that it scared Amanda, but somehow she believed in him, that everything would be fine. Felipe replied, just shaking his head and walked with his mother towards a destination that she didn't know what it would be, but she knew she had to face it with her head held high.
